As with any investment, there are questions you may have! Here are a couple FAQs to help you in your decision.
What is the easiest way to contact CMP?
Email is the easiest and fastest way, and the more detail provided in your inquiry, the easier I can give you a detailed reply.
Do we have to meet in person before the session or event?
No, but I love getting to know my clients before their session!! Typically, it is easier to photograph someone who I have met previously because they are more comfortable in front of the camera. If meeting is not possible (possibly due to schedule conflicts or traveling), I am available via Skype or FaceTime and can do all the paperwork via email! CMP works hard at keeping most paperwork digital and green.
What types of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, money order, and credit card payments via PayPal. PayPal transactions do require a transaction fee of 4% of balance.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, with any session a deposit and signed agreement is required. Deposit amounts vary depending on session type; wedding collection deposits require 40% down. Wedding dates are held for 1 week after initial inquiry without deposit.
When do you require the balance due?
For portrait sessions, session balance is due at time of session. For weddings, the balance is due 7 days before your wedding date. Payment plans are available at no additional charge.
Do you work alone?
My current pricing is for my work. I have the option to add a second shooter for weddings or other large events if necessary and for an additional fee.
How long have you been doing this and what are your credentials?
I have been in business since 2012. I have degrees in both Photographic Technology and Business Management. I am trained in natural light, flash photography, portrait, event and composite photography (think, T-Rex wedding photo haha), retouching and even film photography!
How long does it take to receive photos?
Depending on type of session (wedding or portrait) time frame ranges from 1-6 weeks. If photos will take longer than expected, I will notify you within that time to let you know of a delay. CMP limits work per month, as to keep up with work flow appropriately, so any delays are limited to extreme circumstances only. You would receive an email notification when your photos have been placed onto the online gallery for viewing. You would also receive a custom URL and password to share with family and friends.
Do you offer USB and print releases?
Yes, USB of choice photographs will be available after print orders have been placed. Specific print order requirements will be listed on contract as well as lifestyle and wedding collection brochures.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, CMP holds a business license in the State of Michigan as an LLC. Charlotte Manning Photography is also insured!
What To Expect...
If you are looking for a wedding collection: it is imperative to discuss with your partner about the kind of photographs you are looking for. My personal style is traditional and photojournalistic; I personally enjoy capturing the "candid, in-between moments" more than anything else. However, I understand the importance of capturing traditional portraits with family and other loved ones, so there will be time set aside just for these photos. When it comes to lighting, natural light is best, but I am college-trained on how to utilize lighting equipment for special lighting circumstances, or just to add an artistic touch. Expect all of my images to be timeless, creative and have special attention to detail. Please go to my wedding portfolio here to see a more elaborate collection of my work and to view basic pricing.
If you are looking for a lifestyle session: my creative ability enables me to discover and capture your truest self (my fun and energetic personality helps too!); we will talk and have fun which will result in a session that is one of a kind- just like you! The feel or look of portrait sessions varies based on individual wants and needs- whether it be traditional, artistic, individual or family- you give me the basis of what you want to gain from a session and I will make it happen. I spend a lot of time planning a session based on client input, and enjoy coming up with fun and unique spins to each session. As far as location, think about the place that makes you feel most content and happy- and that's where we will meet. My most favorite location for your session is your home; there is nothing better than capturing your family within your own unique atmosphere. I have a a few favorite parks or a home location you can also use if you do not want a session in your home. Please continue on to my portrait gallery here to take a look at a more extensive portfolio of my work.
